The Indianapolis Bible Institute is a ministry of Colonial Hills Baptist Church that offers one, three, and five year programs . The Institute is designed to help lay people better understand God's Word so they can more effectively be established in doctrine and equipped for service. The IBI offers courses regularly throughout the year on topics such as theology, Bible study , and discipleship. Courses are available to all who are interested.
Classes
IBI classes meet on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm or on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:30pm throughout the year (see the schedule below for more detail). Classes will include instructional time as well as assignments which will need to be completed outside the class. Each class will be categorized according to one of three general categories, including:
Registering for classes will incur a fee of $25 per class, plus the price of any books assigned for the class.
- Theology Courses - These classes will cover topics such as systematic theology, biblical theology, dispensationalism, and Baptist distinctives.
- Biblical Study Courses - These classes will cover topics such as general and special hermeneutics, Bible survey, and studies of individual books.
- Discipleship courses - These classes will cover topics such as counseling, leadership, missions, finances, spiritual growth, music and worship, and other such related topics.
Registering for classes will incur a fee of $25 per class, plus the price of any books assigned for the class.
Certificates
Each student in the IBI will have the opportunity to complete certificates upon completion of the necessary classes. Students are welcome to take classes without attempting to complete a certificate, but those who do wish to complete a certificate must meet the following requirements.:
- 1 year certificate - 5 classes, with at least 1 class in each of the main categories (3 total classes) and 2 other classes from any category.
- 3 year certificate - 15 classes, with at least 4 classes in each of the main categories (12 total classes) and 3 other classes from any category.
- 5 year certificate - 25 classes, with at least 6 classes in each of the main categories (18 total classes) and 7 other classes from any category.
Faculty
Teachers for the IBI include those who have attained a Master of Divinity or greater, or who have practical skills and experience which qualify them for teaching a particular class. Current teachers include:
Schedule
IBI classes meet on four Monday nights from 7:00-9:00pm or on five Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:15pm throughout the year. Each class will be two hours in length and last for four weeks, amounting to 8 hours of instructional time per class. This year's course schedule includes:

- Bible Doctrines 2 | Joel Sherrill - Friday, November 22 from 6:30-9:00 and Saturday, November 23 9:00-3:00
