Colonial Music
At Colonial we strive to accomplish four purposes through our music:
To Glorify God: Give people the right opinion of the God we serve and accurately represent Him To Praise God: Focus the listeners’ attention on God, not on performers or presentations To Edify Believers: Produce spiritual understanding and growth in believers rather than entertain them or stir up a feeling of worship To Unify the Church: Bring people together as they corporately worship the Lord rather than divide them by personal musical preferences |
Come and worship the Lord with us!
Music at Colonial is designed to edify the believer and bring glory to Christ. As such, our music is prayerfully selected, carefully prepared, and skillfully presented. It is important to us that the message of both the music and the lyrics accurately depict the God who redeemed us and made us new creatures in Christ. For those reasons, we are intentionally traditional and culturally conservative in our approach to worship. We utilize hymns, gospel songs, and recent compositions that contain sound doctrine and rich theological themes. Two pianos, organ, and keyboard/strings serve as the primary accompaniment for congregational singing, while our 50-voice choir is frequently accompanied by orchestral instruments. Colonial offers many opportunities for its members to utilize their God-given musical talents:
