Online Giving – Is Colonial one of the few places you still write a check to? We offer a secure and convenient way to accept your tithes and offerings online using your checking account. Once you setup your online account, you can easily return to it to make one-time or recurring contributions, view giving history, and even view your year-end tax statement. To get started, click on the Give Now button below!
Designated Gifts – Have you made a special gift to one of our supported missionaries or ministries? Praise the Lord for how He uses His people to meet the specific needs of His people! These special designated gifts are disbursed monthly in addition to the regular missions support. Colonial will provide a tax receipt for these donations. Keep in mind that Colonial is not able to provide a tax deduction for gifts designated to members of the congregation or community. However, our Benevolence Fund has been designed to help those among us who are experiencing difficulty with basic needs such as food, shelter, and transportation. Gifts to the Benevolence Fund should not be marked for a specific individual.
Matching Gifts – Do you know if your company has a program to match charitable donations? It is estimated that over 65% of Fortune 500 companies offer matching gift programs; yet, over $6 billion in matching funds go unclaimed each year. Your tithes and offerings qualify as charitable contributions, so please take a moment and inquire with your employer to discover if your company offers a matching gift program. For any questions or required documents, e-mail [email protected] or call the church office.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) – Did you know you can transfer funds directly from your IRA as a charitable contribution? If you are over age 70 ½, you have the option of directly transferring funds from your IRA to Colonial. This tax provision was re-instated and became permanent in December of 2015. The law allows the transfer to take place tax free, and will not require you to report the distribution as income on your tax return – creating several possible tax benefits!
