RE-CONNECTING WITH OUR COLONIAL COMMUNITY
May 27, 2020
Dear Church Family,
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the novel coronavirus outbreak to be a Global Pandemic. March 11 was a Wednesday. It proved to be the last day that the Colonial Hills Baptist Church family was able to gather for more than two months. We are excited about the opportunity to gather very soon.
In these unprecedented times, we have seen God’s work advance in unprecedented ways. We have had the opportunity to preach the Word around the world. While we remain grateful for the technology that has allowed our church to continue to assemble, we are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to reassemble physically on May 31, 2020.
Ecclesiastes 8:6-7 says,
Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
Solomon recognizes that making the right decision at the right time presents a great burden to man. Surely, Solomon’s observation applies to our decision about when to reopen. Our desire is to please God by gathering to worship Him while simultaneously guarding the health of those who gather. It is with this in mind that we offer the following plan as we begin to return to in-person worship.
Whether you choose to worship in-person, or continue to join us through Livestream, we anticipate your participation and pray that God will bless you as you lift your heart to worship Him.
In His Service,
Pastor Phelps
Note: With the safety and well-being of our congregation at the forefront of our thoughts, we ask those with pre-existing health conditions or vulnerable immune systems to join us electronically.
